Hey, thanks for the comments, Everyone! See, we have just created one more way for teachers to use blogs... you don't need to make a "hand-out" of things you want your students to remember or refer to... you can just post it to the blog!

Just a note about blogs. There is actually another facet to blogging we did not discuss, and that is the RSS feed. This is how you can have updated internet sites pushed to your own blog. For example, say that I'm really interested in a particular educational site, and I want to keep up with all of the updates. If that site has a RSS link, then I can attach it to my blog if that blog has RSS software! I recommend http://www.bloglines.com as another free blog site with this RSS software. (The blogger site I showed you does not have this option.)

What does this mean for me? I can preview about 200 updated websites in about an hour. That's how I keep up with my professional reading online. Have questions? You might try this tutorial for non-technical people < http://rss.softwaregarden.com/aboutrss.html>

Children Have Databases, too!

Please look at the menu of databases and preview :

InfoTrac Junior Edition
Info Trac Kids' Edition

These databases are also available from the Florida Electronic Library through your public library. http://www.flelibrary.org Go to this link, then input your public library barcode #!

Welcome to the Virtual Library!

Your feedback will help me to refine these demonstrations to future education students. Please make a few comments concerning one or more of the following topics:

1. Which databases look useful to you?

2. Do you have any other ideas how blogs might be useful to teachers?

3. Any comments about how this material was presented?

4. Please remember that if you would like to ask more questions, or review any of this material with me, please come by the library or make an appointment. I'd be happy to research with you!
